"Subnautica 2," the highly anticipated sequel to Subnautica, is set to enter early access in 2025. Players will be able to explore new underwater environments beyond Planet 4546B, and this time, co-op play for up to four players will be available, allowing for a shared survival experience. The game will feature new tools, vehicles, and base-building mechanics, along with fresh underwater creatures to encounter. While single-player gameplay will remain an option, the introduction of multiplayer co-op has been a major focus for developers.

The game will launch through Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Game Preview program, meaning it will evolve with community feedback as development continues. The early access period is expected to last a few years, similar to the first Subnautica game's development cycle.
