CI Games has released a brand-new gameplay trailer for Lords of the Fallen II, titled Steel & Sorcery, offering a closer look at the upcoming dark fantasy action RPG's dramatically improved combat system. The trailer highlights a major overhaul designed to make battles faster, more aggressive and more flexible than in the previous game. One of the biggest additions is the ability to switch between two melee weapon loadouts in the middle of a combo without interrupting attacks. Players can combine different weapons, such as opening with dual daggers before finishing an attack sequence with a powerful scythe strike. The sequel also introduces nearly 30 distinct weapon movesets, almost doubling the number available in Lords of the Fallen (2023). New counterattacks, unique boss weapon abilities and expanded one-handed and two-handed fighting styles provide additional combat options.Magic and ranged combat have also received significant improvements, including dedicated stances, more spell combinations and new Quickfire abilities that allow players to use special attacks without disrupting their fighting rhythm.
The game features seven schools of magic, while players can equip multiple spells and switch between different magical abilities during combat. These improvements reflect CI Games' efforts to incorporate community feedback and deliver a deeper Soulslike experience. Lords of the Fallen II is currently targeting a Q1 2027 release, with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC among its announced platforms.
