The Georgia Bulldogs football team, representing the University of Georgia, has a storied history in college football, with four national championships (1942, 1980, 2021, 2022) and 15 Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles.

In the 2024 season, the Bulldogs secured the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff (CFP) and are set to face the No. 7 seed, Notre Dame, in the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 2025. 

However, the team faces a significant challenge as starting quarterback Carson Beck underwent surgery on his right elbow's ulnar collateral ligament and will miss the CFP. Backup quarterback Gunner Stockton is expected to lead the offense in Beck's absence.

Despite these challenges, the Bulldogs remain a formidable team under head coach Kirby Smart, who is in his ninth year leading the program. The team has demonstrated resilience and depth throughout the season, and fans are optimistic about their performance in the upcoming playoff game.
