DC Studios is bringing one of Gotham City's most disturbing villains to the big screen with Clayface, an upcoming horror thriller directed by James Watkins. Starring Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, the film explores the tragic transformation of a rising Hollywood actor into the terrifying, shape-shifting villain known as Clayface. After a brutal encounter with a local crime boss leaves him horribly disfigured, Hagen turns to an experimental medical treatment in a desperate attempt to restore his appearance and career. However, the seemingly miraculous procedure comes with horrifying side effects, gradually destroying his grip on reality and transforming his body into a malleable, clay-like substance. Naomi Ackie stars as Caitlyn Corr, the scientist involved in his treatment, while Max Minghella, David Dencik and Eddie Marsan also join the cast. Written by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, the movie combines psychological suspense, gruesome body horror and a tragic story about identity, ambition and revenge. Produced by Matt Reeves, James Gunn and Peter Safran, Clayface marks DC Studios' first full-fledged horror feature in its new cinematic universe. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 23, 2026, just in time for Halloween.
